Snatch, Clean, Jerk! Learn, develop or fine-tune your lifting technique as you build the strength to move barbells like a champion. We're offering 2 levels of programming this term to help you master the Olympic lifts: Learn to Lift and Improve your Lift.


Learn to Lift

This 8-week program offers 2 training sessions per week and will leave you feeling strong and confident in the gym. If you've always wanted to use barbells and want to feel like a star doing it, Olympic lifting with the Fitness & Performance team is for you. We'll see you in the Weightlifting Zone! 

NOTE: 

  • Starts the week of January 23, 2023!
  • Mondays and Wednesdays 7:15-8:15pm
  • Sessions cancelled during Reading week. 
  • Program Capacity: Maximum of 20 participants per session
  • Scheduled makeup dates: Mon. Mar. 27 & Wed. Mar. 29 at 7:15-8:15 p.m. at AC WLZ 

SIGN-UP REQUIRED

This program requires registration to participate, please register to your slot. 

Participants may register for the 8-week session offered this term. To get the most out of this program, participants are required to attend all 16 sessions as each week builds on the previous session.

Students: Current students paying incidental fees can access this programming for an additional fee. 

Members: Anyone who has a current Sport and Rec membership may access this programming for an additional fee.

Improve your Lift

This program is geared towards those who have some experience with Olympic weightlifting but are looking to refine their technique, learn new skills and progress with their lifting goals. 

This 4-week program provides the structure and community to prepare you for a fun throw down with friends!

NOTE: 

  • Two sessions offered: Starts the week of January 23, 2023 and the week of February 28, 2023!
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:30-7:30pm
  • No sessions during Reading week. 
  • Program Capacity: Maximum of 20 participants per session
