IMPACT Proud

IMPACT Proud offers the same progressive, research-backed IMPACT Training but is created specifically for 2SLGBTQ+ participants, led by 2SLGBTQ+ coaches.

What to expect

  • A community agreement that sets the tone for inclusion and belonging
  • Learn the essentials of weight-room training in a safe, supportive space
  • Build strength and confidence through progressive workouts that meet you where you are
  • Personalized coaching with a 1:8 coach-to-participant ratio
  • No experience needed and all equipment is provided

Pre-Registration for IMPACT Proud

No IMPACT Training Pass is required to participate in IMPACT Proud, but pre-registration is required. Please sign up in advance to reserve a spot. IMPACT Proud pre-registration.

Eligibility
  • Students: U of T students paying incidental fees for the current term can access this program for an additional fee
  • Members: Anyone who has a current Sport & Rec membership can access this programming for an additional fee

What Happens in the Class

Each class starts with a friendly coach welcome and a dynamic warmup to help you ease in.

You’ll move through 6–8 guided exercises using equipment like barbells, squat racks, dumbbells and kettlebells. Coaches support you throughout so you can learn, feel confident and get stronger week by week. Every session ends with a cool down and quick check-in.

Classes are 60 minutes. Show up, have fun and let the coaches guide the rest!

What to Bring and What to Wear

All equipment is provided. Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe athletic shoes.

Registration and Cancellation Policy

Pre-Registration

  • Members can pre-register for a class spot 7 days before the class start time
  • Reserve your spot in the "Pre-registration for IMPACT Proud" section above

Cancellation

  • Pre-registrations can be cancelled up to 30 minutes before the class start time.
  • To cancel a pre-registration online:
    1. Visit the Recreation Portal
    2. Sign in and select your profile/name
    3. Go to Program Registrations
    4. Choose the session you wish to cancel
