Student Group Access

All recognized U of T student clubs and groups may apply to rent facilities at the Athletic Centre, Goldring Centre and Varsity Centre.

Please note that Student Group facility rentals are for use by recognized U of T student clubs/groups. Use of our facilities cannot be transferred to a non-university group.

KPE offers three distinct types of bookings for Student Groups looking for a space to call their own: ongoing bookings in studios and conditioning spaces, one-time bookings on the field, gyms and classrooms and tabling opportunities in our lobbies.

Want to book a space? Please review the following information and submit an application form.

  • All participants using Student Group Access times must have access to the Sport and Rec facilities, either as U of T students, members or with a guest pass.
  • Groups may be required to pay a $100 damage deposit, which is fully refundable if there is no damage and all conditions are met.
  • Groups must use the time booked or cancel with a minimum of 48 hours written notice to sportandrec@utoronto.ca.
  • Groups must arrive and depart on time, using authorized entrances and exits. Groups who are late arriving by 15 minutes may forfeit their time.

Ensuring that a leader from your group is prepared to respond in an emergency is critical. A member with a valid Standard First Aid, issued within the last three years and a valid CPR-C/Basic Rescuer, issued within the last 12 months, must be present for the entire length of your booking. KPE accepts certifications issued by the Red Cross, St. John’s Ambulance, Lifesaving Society and Heart and Stroke Foundation. Other certifying bodies are not accepted.

If student groups are not able to provide a first aid / CPR certified leader, they may request one from KPE staff.  There is a charge for this service and a minimum of ten business days is required.

Keys and equipment can only be signed out and given to the individual who provides First Aid CPR to ensure that onsite supervision is provided at every session.

Additional certifications including fitness, strength or self-defense may be requested depending on the activities planned.

Tabling does not require leaders to be certified.
