Women's Athletic Association Trust

The Women’s Athletic Association (WAA) Trust is an endowed fund that was established for the development and enhancement of women’s athletics at the University of Toronto. It provides funding for women’s athletics programs for up to $5,000.

The application period for 2023-24 IS now open.

Applications for this funding will be accepted for review by the WAA Trust Advisory Committee until September 8, 2023, after which the Committee will make a recommendation to the Dean on which projects should receive the funding. We are committed to responding to all applicants by as soon as possible. Please ensure you review the below information before submitting an application.

Eligibility

  1. Any program supporting women’s athletics, including intercollegiate, intramural, or recreation. Scholarships, operating/annual funding, student fees, or research are not eligible projects for funding.
  2. The beneficiaries of the programming must be U of T students and funding must benefit everyone in the program. Types of eligible projects include equipment, travel, or other special initiatives/projects that would not be possible without additional funding.
  3. All of the funds received must be utilized in the current fiscal year. (i.e. before April 30, 2024)
  4. Recipients of the funding must provide an impact report on the use of the funds before April 30, 2024 to the Advancement Office. If you received funding last year and have not yet submitted an impact report, you must do so by the application deadline to be considered for funding this year.
  5. Priority may be given to applicants that have not received WAA Trust funding in the last two years.

Application Guidelines

Applications must be submitted through the online form by September 8, 2023 at 5 p.m. Late applications or those submitted in other formats will not be accepted. If you require accommodation in completing the online form, please contact alumni.kpe@utoronto.ca.

Applications submitted by non-U of T staff must be reviewed and approved by a full-time U of T staff member prior to submission.
