Healthy men and women, 45-65 years of age, for an exercise and blood pressure study

EXERCISE AND BLOOD PRESSURE STUDY

Researchers at the Department of Exercise Science within the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education at the University of Toronto are conducting a pilot study investigating blood pressure responses to handgrip exercise.

Participants will be required to:

➔ Attend 3 visits to the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport (100 Devonshire Place) at the University of Toronto within a time span of one month, each lasting approximately 70 minutes

➔ Complete a 4 hour fast, a 4 hour abstinence from caffeine and a 24 hour abstinence from consumption of any alcohol or strenuous exercise prior to each session

We are looking for healthy men of ages 45-65 and healthy post-menopausal women (at least 1 year) ages 45-65 who are ‘sedentary’ (no intense exercise, no more than 2 times a week of aerobic or resistance exercise), free from chronic disease and non-smokers for the past six months.
