Policies

Age and grade guidelines have been set to be appropriate for the developmental stage of the child, the facility in which the program is held and the program goals. Your child’s safety and enjoyment of our programs are of paramount importance to us and we ask that all parents and guardians adhere to these age guidelines.

In programs for 4 – 7 year-olds, the child must be the appropriate age by the first day of camp; this is for the safety of all campers and staff, particularly around swimming and supervision. We will not accommodate any requests for age exception in these age groups and we reserve the right to ask for proof of age.

In all Camp U of T programs for children ages 8 and older, the participant must be the appropriate age BEFORE December 31, 2024.

If your child is too young to participate this year, we look forward to seeing him/her in our programs next year. If you would like to enroll your older child in a program that is set for younger children, please contact us to discuss the specifics.

All camp withdrawal requests must be made 14 days before the start of the camp week. A partial refund, less a cancellation fee of 10% of the registration fee, will be issued.

No withdrawal and refund requests will be processed within 14 days before the start of the camp, with the exception for medical reasons. A medical note is required.

No partial refunds are issued for days not attended. The refund policy applies to all camp programs and extended care.

Withdrawal requests can be made in person, by telephone at 416-978-3436, or by email at sportandrec@utoronto.ca and campuoft@utoronto.ca.

Registration transfers are able to be processed between camp offerings and weeks, at no additional charge, as long as space permits.

If the camp into which you are transferring has a higher registration cost, the difference will need to be paid in person or over the phone, before the transfer is complete.

If the camp into which you are transferring has a lower price AND the request is received at least 14 days prior to the start of camp, you will receive a refund of the difference. There will be no refunds for transfers to a lower priced camp if not requested 14 days in advance.

Please email sportandrec@utoronto.ca or call 416-978-3436 to make a transfer request.

Children of full-time or part-time U of T students receive a 15% discount on the regular community fee. The U of T student must be the main contact for the family account to be eligible.

Children of Sport & Rec Members (minimum of 1-month membership required) receive a 10% discount on the regular community fee.

Parents/guardians who register online must pay the full course fee, and contact the customer experience main office at 416-978-3436 before the last day of the program to request the discount. Discounts are not available for extended care.

Please note that these tax credits have been eliminated by the Revenue Canada.

Camp U of T does not issue separate receipts for Childcare benefits. Please use your receipt from the time of registration for these credits.

Communication about waitlists, receipts and reminders is handled via email. Ensure your email address is accurate and will accept emails and attachments from campuoft@utoronto.ca and sportandrec@utoronto.ca.

The specific risks vary from one activity to another. All participation in programs and services is voluntary and each participant knowingly assumes all risks associated with his or her own participation.
